What will you be doing?
As a volunteer, you will help us to:
Raise awareness of our work through social media and outreach (help with creating logo and website, setting up LinkedIn profile, Instagram). Identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities. Support crowdfunding and fundraising campaigns. Build connections with schools, businesses, and local partners.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a passionate and motivated volunteer to support marketing and fundraising efforts for our new Community Interest Company (CIC), dedicated to helping children with dyslexia, ADHD, other neurodivergent conditions, and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This initiative builds on work previously delivered in the private sector, with the vision of making specialist support accessible to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. In Islington, where 40% of children live in poverty, your contribution will help ensure that financial barriers do not prevent children from receiving the specialist support they need to thrive. The ideal volunteer will have:
Experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising, including social media, event promotion, and donor engagement. Knowledge or awareness of SEN and the challenges faced by neurodivergent children. Strong communication skills, creativity, and an ability to engage a diverse audience. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.
Responsibilities may include:
Developing and implementing marketing campaigns to raise awareness of our CIC and its work. Supporting fundraising initiatives, including events and digital campaigns. Assisting with communications to parents, schools, and supporters. Contributing ideas to improve engagement and outreach.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children in your community while gaining valuable experience in marketing and fundraising within the charity sector.
What difference will you make?
Why it matters: Your skills will directly help us secure resources so children with learning difficulties can build confidence, succeed at school, and create brighter futures.
