At Mission Zero Technologies, we are a London-based climate tech startup dedicated to reinventing carbon for a thriving planet. Since 2020, we have rapidly developed the world’s most versatile direct air capture (DAC) technology, capable of recovering historic CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere at any scale. Our innovative approach has been backed by prominent investors and organizations such as Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the XPRIZE foundation, Stripe, and the UK Government. We have successfully transitioned our technology from lab to commercial plants in under three years, enabling us to accelerate carbon removal and sustainable utilization.
We are now seeking an exceptional Business Development Manager to help us commercialize our leading DAC product in the expanding market of carbon dioxide removal (CDR). This role is pivotal as we move from an early-stage R&D startup into a revenue-generating company poised for rapid global scaling. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with established buyers of carbon removal credits and project developers interested in deploying our DAC technology.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the CDR industry, including the buying cycles, processes, and needs of project developers and buyers. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will work primarily from our London headquarters, with international travel expected to meet clients and engage with stakeholders. The role offers flexibility: on-site/hybrid if based in the UK, or fully remote if based outside the UK and able to work within North America/Europe time zones.
Your key responsibilities will include developing and closing contracts with long-term buyers and project developers, leveraging your expertise to navigate complex sales cycles and ensure successful partnerships that drive revenue growth. You will engage with clients through regular discovery interviews, gaining insights into their needs and pain points to tailor our offerings effectively. Additionally, you will contribute to customer profiling activities, analyzing client data to identify trends and opportunities for sales optimization.
A crucial part of your role involves acting as a liaison between clients and our internal teams, providing feedback to product and engineering departments to inform continuous improvement and innovation. This ensures our offerings remain aligned with market demand and customer expectations.
To succeed, you should have comprehensive knowledge of the carbon removal industry, proven success in B2B sales, and strong relationship management skills. Experience with CRM tools, a background in sustainability or environmental science, and the ability to navigate complex decision-making processes are highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a master’s or certifications being advantageous.
What we offer includes 30 days of annual leave, generous parental leave, a personal development grant, mental health support, employee share options, and opportunities to make a tangible impact on our company's direction. We foster a high-growth, innovative environment that values diversity and encourages bold ideas. Our commitment to equal employment opportunities ensures an inclusive workplace where all backgrounds and perspectives are valued.
Our hiring process typically takes 4-6 weeks, involving application review, HR screening, case study, interviews with the CEO and team, and a final decision. We welcome applications from candidates worldwide who can work within the specified time zones and are passionate about climate technology and sustainability.
