Role Summary

The role of Project Controller is a key position within our Science Directorate, based at our workplace in Noordwijk, Netherlands. As a Project Controller, you will support the Project Manager in all programmatic aspects of space projects, including cost management, financial commitments, procurement, scheduling, risk management, logistics, progress monitoring, and general project administration. Your responsibilities will include preparing and monitoring complex procurement activities from tendering through to contract closure, managing financial and planning aspects, and maintaining interfaces both within and outside ESA.

You will play a vital role in supporting decision-making processes by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data related to financial and procurement activities. Your work will involve implementing planning and control procedures to ensure full visibility over project progress, supporting risk management initiatives, and assisting in the preparation of tender documentation and contract negotiations. Additionally, you will support project reviews and audits, ensuring compliance with ESA’s regulations and processes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in programme and project controlling, including risk management and procurement. A strong understanding of ESA procurement regulations, cost and financial frameworks, and space system architectures is essential. You should possess a master’s degree in a relevant domain, demonstrate self-motivation, and have excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
