This exciting role as a Senior Fire Safety Advisor is integral to our commitment to maintaining a safe environment for staff, visitors, and our priceless collections. The position will help shape fire safety policies across our Kew and Wakehurst sites, providing guidance and support throughout the organisation. You will support an ambitious building programme, large-scale events, and scientific research activities, ensuring fire safety measures are effectively integrated into all operational aspects.
The role involves delivering and implementing the fire strategy, supporting compliance with fire safety legislation, and bringing practical fire safety knowledge into the planning stages of projects. You will work closely with various departments, including Estates, to conduct risk assessments and develop forward plans for fire safety improvements. The position is based at Kew Gardens with the option for regular home working, subject to operational needs.
Our team within the Health & Safety department works across all areas to promote a culture of good health and safety management, risk assessment, training, and accident investigation. We aim to make Kew a safe place to work and a leader in health and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fire safety management, risk assessment, and compliance with relevant legislation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments are essential.
We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £45,200 to £52,312 per year, depending on experience.
