See Around Britain is a charity that aims to offer individuals free information about a wide variety of venues, ranging from the Arts, cultural and historical sites, cafés to libraries, post offices, pharmacies, hospitals and surgeries, to tourist destinations. A specific focus is placed on accessibility for disabled individuals, providing crucial information that will allow potential visitors to make informed decisions about the suitability of a destination. This vital information is provided in the form of an online interactive map (seearoundbritain.com), which includes over 50,500 venues, allowing visitors to plan their trips based on the information provided. Admin & Online Editorial Assistant Volunteer The purpose of this role is to check for accuracy and grammar for all submissions from Volunteer Writers/Photographers before they go live on the website. This will involve visiting the “holding area” of the website, choosing a recently created venue description, and reviewing/correcting any errors, omissions, typos, and inconsistencies. This role will also involve copywriting and Office and Administration Management. This role requires a high degree of focus, concentration, an eye for detail, a good level of grammar and spelling, and the IT skills needed to utilize spelling checkers and search engines. This role can be performed remotely, by anyone with a suitable computer and internet access. This work can be done online in the UK. Some volunteers may want to combine this role with Description Writing or Venue Photography.
What are we looking for?
This role requires a high degree of focus, concentration, an eye for detail, a good level of grammar and spelling, and the IT skills needed to utilize spelling checkers and search engines. The volunteer should also be skilled in copywriting as well as office and administration management. This role can be performed remotely, by anyone with a suitable computer and internet access but the canditate will need to be located within an hour of Carmarthen for visits to the office.
