What will you be doing?

This volunteer role is essential in supporting SEDSConnective's day-to-day operations by providing administrative and business support that enables our team to focus on delivering our mission effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. You'll be working closely with trustees, volunteers and external partners to ensure our operations run seamlessly.   Key Responsibilities 1. Administrative Support

Working closely with and assisting Chair with her daily work schedule. Provide comprehensive clerical support including filing, data entry and document management to support charity operations. Maintain organised filing systems for both physical and digital documents, including trustee records, volunteer information and operational documentation. Assist with preparation of materials for board meetings, events and fundraising activities.

2. Communications Management

Coordinate with volunteers, trustees, and external stakeholders, maintaining SEDSConnective's professional image. Support the team with scheduling meetings, events and coordinating volunteer activities.

3. Business Operations Support

Assist with financial administration tasks such as expense tracking, invoice processing and basic bookkeeping support. Support compliance activities including maintaining records for charity regulations and reporting requirements. Help coordinate and document operational processes to improve efficiency and consistency.

4. Project and Event Coordination

Provide administrative support for campaigns, fundraising events and initiatives. Assist with volunteer coordination, including maintaining volunteer databases and communication. Support the preparation and distribution of materials for events and activities.

What are we looking for?

What are we looking for? Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace or similar) with the ability to learn charity-specific systems and tools as needed.   Personal Qualities

Detail-Oriented: Maintains accuracy and attention to detail in all administrative tasks, particularly when managing sensitive information. Highly Organised: Demonstrates strong organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively and maintain systematic approaches to work. Proactive Communicator: Shows excellent communication skills to interact professionally. Team Player: Works collaboratively while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and take initiative.  Commitment: Passionate about SEDSConnective's mission and dedicated to supporting the charity's growth and impact.

Technical Requirements

Strong administrative skills with experience in data entry, filing, document and schedule management. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Experience with working with and managing a variety of communication channels. Basic understanding of charity operations and compliance requirements is beneficial but not essential.

Time Commitment

Flexible, approximately 5–7 hours per week. Availability during daytime hours for responsive communication via WhatsApp. Participate in team connections which may occur during morning hours, lunch breaks, or evenings to accommodate everyone's schedules.
