The Woodland Trust (Coed Cadw) is looking for a Digital Communications Officer - Wales (maternity cover) to lead our digital communications presence in Wales through online channels and the creation of digital content. This role is a 9-12 month maternity cover.

The Role: Support the delivery of the Wales Communications strategy via digital channels and lead on the delivery of digital projects within Wales. Creation of digital content including video, photography and design assets and oversee and manage digital channels in Wales. Be the link between the Wales team and the UK content team to ensure Coed Cadw is represented on the WT website and digital content. Plan & deliver funded activity in accordance with agreed project plans, building evaluation, documenting and sharing learning. Identify potential news stories for Wales digital platforms and working across teams to plan and develop digital content ensuring the right messages to the right audience that inspires action. Support the Communication & Engagement Manager in tracking, measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of Coed Cadw digital communications channels. Build strong working relationships with essential teams within Wales and work with the Communication & Engagement Manager to ensure that the importance of what is undertaken at a Wales level is understood and considered as part of the UK wide strategy. Identify and engage key digital influencers whose reach is beyond that of Coed Cadw to amplify our brand and key messages to the chosen audience.

The Candidate: You'll have experience of developing digital content across most common channels, including social media, website landing pages and content management systems as part of an overall communications plan. In addition, we are looking for candidates who have the following: Keen editorial skills and an eye for brand design, using your experience and knowledge to create digital communications programmes, initiatives and content. Working across a range of teams at a Wales and UK level to support and develop appropriate and inspiring digital communications plans, ideally in the charity sector. The ability to tailor clear messaging, calls to action and digital collateral with an audience centric focus. Knowledge of social media scheduling platforms, content management. Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
