What will you be doing?

See Around Britain is a charity that aims to offer individuals free information about a wide variety of venues, ranging from the Arts, cultural and historical sites, cafés to libraries, post offices, pharmacies, hospitals and surgeries, to tourist destinations. A specific focus is placed on accessibility for disabled individuals, providing crucial information that will allow potential visitors to make informed decisions about the suitability of a destination. This vital information is provided in the form of an online interactive map (seearoundbritain.com), which includes over 50,500 venues, allowing visitors to plan their trips based on the information provided. Volunteer Photo Surveyor The purpose of this role is to visit venues in your chosen area and take a series of photographs highlighting various aspects of the venue. These photos will then be uploaded to the venue listing on the See Around Britain website/app. A template is available listing the photographs required to complete a listing, typically including parking facilities, entrances, accessibility for disabled individuals, signage, and main attractions. The photographs, along with venue descriptions, help potential visitors make informed decisions about the suitability of a destination.

What are we looking for?

Volunteers must be self-motivated, and be computer literate. If you’re comfortable using a smartphone or camera and are experienced in photography and accessibility, this is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact. Training and guidance will be provided where needed.
