Our mission is to be recognised as the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance, and to enrich people’s lives by promoting research, knowledge and enjoyment of the designed world to the widest possible audience.
We are seeking an experienced Exhibitions Registrar on a fixed term contract for 12 months to be based within the Exhibitions Department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the V&A’s lively Exhibitions team, contributing to a diverse and dynamic programme of exhibitions across V&A London sites and touring exhibitions. You will work with a wide range of institutions and individuals both in the UK and internationally, managing the delivery of loans to exhibitions hosted at the V&A and other venues.
The ideal candidate may not necessarily hold a Registrar role but should have significant experience working with loans of cultural items. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the logistics of loans, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining relationships with lenders and partners.
The V&A is renowned for its extensive collection of art and design objects, including architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art, theatre, and performance. We aim to create a world-class visitor and learning experience, deepen the relevance of our collections, expand our international reach, and showcase digital design.
Benefits include a generous pension scheme, 29 days plus bank holidays, flexible working arrangements, tickets to V&A exhibitions, subsidised staff canteen, 25% discount in V&A shops, and various schemes such as bicycle loans, interest-free season tickets, and rental deposit loans. We also offer wide-ranging training and professional development opportunities, an Employee Assistance Programme, and support for diversity and inclusion initiatives.
The V&A is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and is a Disability Confident Employer Level 2. We ensure an accessible recruitment process, provide reasonable adjustments, and support employees with their needs during employment.
