Role Summary

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity, dedicated to creating a world where trees and woods thrive for both people and nature. We are excited to offer a Project Manager position at Mourne Park, a key role in our efforts to enhance and conserve natural and built heritage through the development and delivery of a National Lottery Heritage Funded project.
The role involves leading the development and implementation of visitor experience enhancements, countryside access, and interpretation projects at Mourne Park. You will oversee project management and budgeting, ensuring all reporting and recording systems are maintained accurately. Your responsibilities include managing work programmes across the project, directing the project team, and ensuring all access and interpretation projects align with the Access & Interpretation Plans.
Fostering good relations with partners, contractors, interested organizations, local communities, visitors, and media is a vital part of this role. You will identify and meet with potential partners to help meet project objectives and mutually beneficial goals. The position is home-based within Northern Ireland, requiring regular travel to Mourne Park and around Northern Ireland, with reasonable paid travel expenses.
This is a fixed-term contract until December 2029, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery Players. An enhanced DBS check is part of the pre-employment process.
Candidates should have a passion for the environment, experience in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects, and knowledge of woodland management, conservation land management, and community engagement. Leadership skills, the ability to motivate teams, and strong communication skills are essential. A full UK driving license is required due to travel needs.
