Thalidomide Society Treasurer We know that all trustees have responsibility for finances, but our Treasurer takes the lead on financial matters at Board level within The Thalidomide Society. We are looking for a treasurer to join our valued, vibrant, and robust board of trustees and play a pivotal role in ensuring our organisation is well governed and complies with financial legislation and good practice relating to charities and charitable income. Our present Treasurer has decided to retire, and we are looking for someone to step into this important role, we know you are out there, and we would love you to join us and ensure that our Charity continues to be financially healthy and move forward to ensure we continue to support those who need us. We are looking for someone who can give around 3 to 4 hours a month, join our four Board meetings each year (3 online), join us at our AGM and support our finance sub-committee. While ensuring that our finance policies are kept up to date and are robust in today’s financial climate
What are we looking for?
While prior trustee experience is not a prerequisite, the following qualities will help you excel in this role:
A passion for the organisation’s mission and values. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience in finance, governance or strategic planning. The ability to work collaboratively and make informed decisions.
