What will you be doing?
We are looking for up to 3 community-minded individuals who might live or work in our area of benefit in London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Southwark and the City of London. You will be keen to engage in high quality grant-making through your understanding of the needs and challenges facing the charities and communities that we support, or your willingness to learn. We always need to add to our professional skill base so if you have experience relating to governance, policy development, property, finance, strategic and operational management, that is equally welcome but not a requirement. You’ll play a key part in developing our future plans and, as we are looking to incorporate in the next 12 months, you will play a part in achieving that and other changes.
What are we looking for?
Looking for up to three individuals who bring enthusiasm, knowledge or interest in our area of benefit as a resident or working there. You might already be involved in local causes or groups or have lived experience that gives you insight into the lives of vulnerable people. You will be committed to sound governance and our intention to high quality grant-making. You might have a specific social interest or issue that you want to champion, and you’ll be a collaborative team member of the Board.
What difference will you make?
Our current Board is a mix of long-standing Trustees and several new Trustees. We expect the Board to evolve and change in the next 2 years as we move through incorporation, and it will be important for the new team to reflect the communities that we support and to achieve the best mix of skills and experience to manage our small charity and work effectively with our advisors and grant-holders.
