Role Summary

  • Administer the preparation of management accounts including profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Scrutinize financial performance versus budgets and trends, offering valuable commentary to senior finance entities.
  • Manage revenue postings across multiple divisions ensuring compliance with accounting norms.
  • Handle bank transactions, keep a check on expenditures, and aid in implementing a new accounting framework.
  • Collaborate with auditors during audits and support ad-hoc finance tasks.

Role Requirements

  • Candidates must be at least part-qualified, fully qualified, or professionally experienced accountants (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum three years of corresponding experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software like Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • An ideal candidate would be methodical, proactive, adaptable, and a strong communicator.
  • Experience with Power BI is a plus.

The role of Management Accountant at Wilderness, our parent company, is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health and strategic decision-making of the group. This position is based in London and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with access to our offices three days a week (two days at London Bridge and one at Kingston) and two days remote.

As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing management accounts, including profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations. You will analyze financial performance against budgets and trends, providing insightful commentary to senior finance leaders. Your role will involve managing revenue postings across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and improving processes for efficiency and accuracy.

You will also handle bank transactions, monitor spending, and assist with the implementation of a new accounting system. Collaboration is key, as you will liaise with auditors during audits, support ad-hoc finance tasks, and coach team members to maintain high standards.

Candidates should be part-qualified, fully qualified, or professionally experienced accountants (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with at least three years of relevant experience. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks are essential. Experience with Power BI is desirable. The ideal candidate is methodical, proactive, adaptable, and a strong communicator.
