We are excited to invite applications for the role of Project Manager at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, within our new Global Centre for Biodiversity and Climate (GCBC). Kew is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction dedicated to understanding and protecting plants and fungi for the well-being of people and the future of all life on Earth.

The role involves managing a key project titled “Using biodiversity to support climate resilient livelihoods in intact tropical peatlands.” This project focuses on tropical peatlands, which have been a research focus for over ten years, particularly in the Amazon and Congo basins. The project aims to deliver peat distribution maps, ecology, management strategies, and climate mitigation solutions.
As Project Manager, you will work closely with our team to oversee project activities, ensure timely delivery, and manage budgets. The ideal candidate will have experience working with UK government-funded initiatives, strong financial management and reporting skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects in developing countries. Experience in research settings and the ability to work independently while collaborating with global research partners are essential.
This position is based at Kew Gardens with the flexibility of regular home working, subject to operational needs. The role is part-time, with 50% hours per week, on a fixed-term contract from October 1, 2025, to October 31, 2027.
