Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilitating professional development or capacity-building programmes.
  • Excellent communcation skills and experience in virtual facilitation using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with inclusivity, equity, and community empowerment principles.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience with grassroots organisations or social enterprises and recognised qualification in facilitation, coaching, training or adult education are desirable.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Freelance Programme Facilitator to support the delivery of our programmes. As the primary facilitator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the programme is engaging, inclusive, and impactful for participants. You will work closely with participants, critical friends, and the programme team to deliver expert-led training sessions, facilitate group discussions, and foster a collaborative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Delivery:
  • Facilitate cohort training sessions, ensuring content is engaging and tailored to participant needs.
  • Lead thematic group discussions, peer groups, and virtual retreats, fostering collaboration and mutual learning.
  • Ensure all sessions align with the programme's goals and core values.
  • Participant Engagement:
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with participants to encourage active participation and engagement.
  • Address participant queries and challenges with empathy and professionalism.
  • Support participants in navigating programme components, such as training sessions and group activities.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with critical friends, subject-matter experts, and the programme team to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of session content, incorporating feedback from participants and the team.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to share insights and learnings.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Record attendance, participation, and engagement levels during sessions.
  • Provide detailed feedback and reflections on each session to the programme team.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities by offering insights into participant progress.


Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in facilitating professional development, leadership, or capacity-building programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of participants, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Experience in virtual facilitation using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of and commitment to principles of inclusivity, equity, and community empowerment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within tight deadlines.


Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior experience working with grassroots organisations, social enterprises, or similar contexts.
  • Familiarity with delivering programmes tailored to individuals and groups from marginalised or underrepresented communities.
  • Experience contributing to or working within monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks.
  • A recognised qualification in facilitation, coaching, training, or adult education.
  • Knowledge of the social enterprise or non-profit sector, including challenges faced by early-stage changemakers.

DiNN will not direct or control how the freelancer delivers their work, beyond agreeing on the required outcomes, ensuring alignment with the terms of the contract and project objectives. This relationship is strictly that of a service provider and client.
