You will be responsible for managing all elements of volunteering within Borderline Arts, being central to the success in recruiting and retaining the volunteers needed to deliver the charity's objectives.

What will you be doing?

Overview The Volunteer Coordinator will: Recruit new Volunteers:

Generate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions, as required Recruit new volunteers (Link with Derby Community Action, Reach Volunteering etc) Respond to volunteer email enquiries Review applications and hold interviews Provide inductions for new volunteers

Manage our team of (currently 12) volunteers:

Regularly check in with volunteers (e.g. monthly) to ensure they feel supported, monitored, motivated and appreciated and to address any issues that arise. Maintain our volunteer database and undertake any other admin duties Encourage volunteers to records their volunteers hours (via timestation) Make volunteers aware of any training relevant to their role Attend committee meetings (2-4 times a year), preferably as a trustee Nominate volunteers for annual Derby Volunteer awards etc if appropriate Organise occasional social events for the team (e.g. a Christmas meal or a summer BBQ)

  Expectations

Communicates clearly/regularly with our Chair or Founder Abide by our policies

Time Commitment 

Minimum of 12 months – to be negotiated between our Founder and the applicant Approximately 3 hours per week (some weeks may be less, some more) In addition, attendance at Committee Meetings (2-3 times a year, 1-2 hours in length)
