What will you be doing?
DescriptionThe Hub @ Toothill CIC is a community-led project transforming a local space into a vibrant hub. Due to incomplete and incorrectly finished construction work, the Hub faces ongoing legal and contractual challenges. We are seeking a skilled Legal Advisor volunteer to provide guidance, review contracts, and support our leadership team in navigating these complex issues. The role also includes reviewing contracts with suppliers for The Pub @ the Hub to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on contractor disputes, contracts, and liabilities. Oversee and review supplier contracts for The Pub @ the Hub. Review legal documents and offer guidance to the board and interim CEO. Advise on risk management and compliance related to the construction works. Support the preparation of documents or correspondence with courts or solicitors as required. Work closely with the leadership team to ensure decisions are legally informed.
What are we looking for?
Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal professional with experience in contract law or construction law. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex legal information clearly to non-legal stakeholders. Commitment to supporting community-led projects and volunteering.
