Volunteer PR & Communications Officer

What will you be doing?

The Hub @ Toothill CIC is creating a vibrant community space that connects people through the Pub @ the Hub, arts, culture, learning, and tailored support. To help us share this journey widely, we are seeking a PR & Communications Volunteer. You’ll play a vital role in promoting our work, building relationships with local press, and ensuring our successes and opportunities reach the community and beyond. Responsibilities

Draft press releases and news stories for local media outlets. Build relationships with journalists, bloggers, and community media platforms. Support the promotion of events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives. Work with the wider content team (design, video, and copy) to ensure consistent messaging. Monitor media coverage and highlight opportunities for positive publicity.

What are we looking for?

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience writing press releases, news stories, or public-facing content. Confidence in reaching out to media contacts and building relationships. Understanding of how to engage local communities through media. (Desirable) Experience with charity PR, community projects, or small organisations.
