Role Summary

  • Develop annual strategies and budgets to increase unrestricted income from individual donors.
  • Plan and manage individual giving campaigns to boost financing from new and existing supporters.
  • Oversee legacy, in-memory, and community marketing campaigns, in collaboration with the Fundraising Officer.
  • Ensure excellent donor support by managing communications, donation reconciliation, and the development of the donation pages on the Tree Aid website.
  • Stay updated with regulations and ensure compliance across all individual giving activities.
  • Manage Individuals Fundraising Officer, Database Officer, and Fundraising Assistant.

About the role:  

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Individual Giving Fundraising Manager to join our dynamic Fundraising and Communications team at a growing international development charity based in Bristol, delivering transformational change for some of the world’s most vulnerable people, living on the frontlines of the climate crisis. 

You’ll work with a team of fundraising and communications managers to oversee the delivery of our strategy and you’ll manage an experienced team of fundraisers and supporter care assistants to set and deliver exciting fundraising campaigns to existing and new supporters through a variety of channels.  

Main duties:  

  • Strategy and Budget Implementation: Develop annual plans and deliver the strategy to raise unrestricted income from individual supporters. 
  • IG Campaign Development: Work with the Fundraising Officer to plan and oversee the execution of individual giving campaigns to raise unrestricted income from existing and new supporters.  
  • Legacy, In-Memory and Community Fundraising: Plan and oversee the execution of legacy, in-memory and community marketing campaigns to warm and cold supporters, working closely with the Fundraising Officer who will deliver them.  
  • Supporter Care & donation processing: Ensure excellent delivery of Supporter Care for our donors, ensuring effective communication and stewardship, efficient reconciliation of donations, management of financial systems for donation processing and development of donations pages on the Tree Aid website. 
  • Compliance with regulations: Keep up to date and ensure individual giving activity complies with regulations. 
  • Team Supervision: Supervise Individuals Fundraising Officer, Database Officer and Fundraising Assistant  

About you:  

As our Fundraising Manager – Individual Giving, you’ll bring a wealth of fundraising experience to the role. You will be a passionate fundraiser with a strong results-oriented approach to your work, as well as excellent people management skills, effective writing skills and solid financial literacy.   

You will also bring the following knowledge, experience and skills: 

  • A passion for fundraising and a results-oriented outlook with a proven track record of delivering against income targets and KPIs.  
  • Experience of people management, the ability to motivate teams and work effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organisation.  
  • Excellent project management skills, deadline-driven and ability to delegate effectively.  
  • Solid financial literacy, including experience in budget development and management.  
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to provide effective constructive feedback.
