Volunteer Create a Food and Textile Garden

What will you be doing?

We have a series of garden clear-up days coming up, and we would like a selection of people that can be hands on in helping us to clear the garden.    However, behind the scenes we are looking for people that have experience saving community assets and documenting the use of green spaces in order to keep them going. We would also like help with fundraising and creating a sustainable financial model around the community garden to keep it going, in line with the recent green plans that have been approved by Cabinet in 2024.     Colechi have been campaigning to increase awareness around fashion, clothing and growing, which has received press from Vogue, Elle UK, Monocle and more. With this experience, we want to work with the council to save a much loved community asset. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience managing green spaces or with an interest in preserving green spaces. We are looking for someone that understands local authority and connecting with local groups, whilst having knowledge of fundraising for community projects. An interest or experience in fashion or food is a bonus. 

What difference will you make?

You will be creating a safe outdoor space for a commuity of people. You will be allowing people to connect with their neighbours through the events that we plan to host at the event, and you will contribute to one of the biggest attempts to produce a dedicated green space.
