Role Summary

  • Act as the main point of contact for guest experience, addressing their needs and questions.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize facility operations and guest care.
  • Offer personalized hospitality services like local recommendations, bookings, and transportation arrangements.
  • Support retreats by coordinating schedules and expectations with facilitators.
  • Facilitate smooth meal services and ensure cleanliness and readiness of guest rooms and facilities.
  • Contribute to social media engagement and occasionally assist in pet care.

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and service-oriented person to fill the position we call Guest Liaison. We are looking for a commitment of a minimum of 90 days. Please read to the bottom of the page to learn how to qualify to apply.

Danyasa is a small, eco-chic hotel and retreat center in the heart of the small beach town of Dominical, Costa Rica, offering eco-friendly accommodations, retreats, daily yoga, and a clothing, jewelry, and accessories boutique.

Our team comprises two owners/managers, one retreat coordinator/manager, two boutique/ reception representatives, four housekeepers, one cook, two maintenance workers, several yoga teachers and massage therapists, and one guest liaison.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Guest Liaison is a central member of Danyasa’s small, intimate team, working 4.5 days per week alongside the Retreat Manager to create seamless, personalized, and exceptional guest experiences. The Guest Liaison is the primary interface for guests, retreat leaders, and participants. In this role, you will collaborate closely with all team members, including the Retreat Manager, boutique/reception staff, housekeepers, kitchen staff, and maintenance.

This role is pivotal in maintaining Danyasa’s reputation as a welcoming and transformational retreat space. It requires strong communication, teamwork, and a proactive approach to guest care and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Care & Hospitality:

• Welcome and check in guests, provide a tour of the facilities, and ensure they feel at home.

•Act as guests’ main point of contact during their stay, addressing questions, needs, and concerns.

• Offer concierge services, including booking tours, providing local recommendations, and arranging transportation.

• Show prospective walk-in guests room options and facilities.


2. Retreat Support:

• Collaborate closely with the Retreat Manager to coordinate retreat schedules and guest services.

• Lead group orientation on the first day of retreats and meet with facilitators to review schedules and expectations (e.g., studio use, meals, excursions, and facilities).


3. Dining Assistance:

• Act as a liaison between guests and the kitchen staff during meals, ensuring smooth service.


4. Facilities Coordination:

• Work with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms and facilities are clean, guest-ready, and in excellent condition.

• Perform minor on-site duties such as opening and closing pool umbrellas, lighting candles, stocking pool towels, resetting timers, and changing safe batteries.

• Beautify the space as you move through the sanctuary, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.


5. Social Media Contributions:

• Working with the team and instructed to be helping with social media engagement. This could pertain to posting on the timeline, sharing stories daily or supporting upcoming promotions and events. Share engaging photos, stories, or reel per shift to Danyasa’s social media profile (@danyasa_yoga_retreat).


6. Pet Care (Occasional):

• As needed, assist with walking or feeding Yoda, Sita (the dogs), and Ruby (the cat).


Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: To be discussed

• Schedule: 4 full-day/night shifts per week, working closely with the Retreat Manager.
