WWOOF UK connects our members with organic farmers, growers, and smallholders to share skills, culture, and community through hands-on experience. We’re part of a worldwide network helping people learn about sustainable farming and reconnect with the land.

We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and hands-on Communications & Marketing Lead to tell the stories that inspire people to get involved – whether as hosts, WWOOFers, or supporters.

This is a role where your creativity directly contributes to positive change: you’ll help more people discover WWOOF, champion our members’ stories, and strengthen our visibility and impact.

About the role

You’ll lead on all aspects of WWOOF UK’s communications and marketing, from developing strategy to creating content that shines.

You’ll manage our social media, produce videos and newsletters, plan campaigns, and represent WWOOF UK at events – working closely with a small, purpose-driven team.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Developing and delivering a communications and marketing strategy aligned with WWOOF UK’s mission.
  • Creating engaging digital content (social media, blogs, videos, newsletters, web).
  • Managing and growing WWOOF UK’s online presence.
  • Building relationships with members, media, and partner organisations.
  • Representing WWOOF UK at events and helping bring our community stories to life.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in communications, marketing, and digital media.
  • Skilled at creating engaging content across social media and digital platforms.
  • Confident using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and social scheduling software.
  • An excellent storyteller and communicator – creative, inclusive, and authentic.
  • Organised, proactive, and happy working independently as part of a remote team.
  • Passionate about sustainability, organic farming, and community building.

Experience in the non-profit or membership sector, or knowledge of sustainable agriculture, would be a bonus.

What we offer

  • Flexible working and a supportive, values-driven environment.
  • The chance to use your creativity to support real-world impact in sustainability and education.
  • A friendly, collaborative team that believes in working with purpose.

We are committed to our Equal Opportunities Policy. We welcome and encourage applications from anyone interested in this role who feels they have the relevant experience, skills, outlook and commitment.

Start date: The job will start straight away if the successful applicant is available, or as soon as possible thereafter.

How to apply

If that sounds like you, or someone you know, we’d love to hear from you! Please send your CV, a short cover letter (1 page maximum) explaining your suitability for the role, and examples of previous communications or marketing work to the email address provided when clicking apply above.
