Description

Everything we do at TDL is guided by SPICE: Socially conscious, Pragmatic, Inventive, Catalytic, and Evidence-based. You can read more about us and our core values here.

Why this role is important for TDL
We started The Decision Lab because we saw a fundamental gap between behavioral science theory and application, one that we believe can be filled with a unique combination of art and science. As the bridge between our research, consulting, and public communication, the Marketing Associate role is key in helping us fulfill this mission by shaping how our insights reach and resonate with the world.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly meticulous Marketing Associate that will work closely with two of TDL's Managing Directors to take the organisation's marketing and communications efforts to the next level. The role involves supporting campaign execution, content optimization, and analytics—ranging from SEO and CRM management to reporting and outreach coordination—in addition to assisting management by distilling relevant data for decision-making, maintaining marketing systems, and providing insights that improve how TDL connects with its audiences.

What you'll be working on

  • Own a digital growth roadmap across web, SEO, content, social, and email—prioritize experiments that drive qualified traffic, subscribers, and leads.
  • Turn TDL’s expertise into a consistent content engine (editorial calendar, briefs, repurposing) for blog, LinkedIn, newsletter, and thought-leadership assets.
  • Design, launch, and iterate campaigns end-to-end (ICP targeting, messaging, CTAs, landing pages, nurture flows) with clear success metrics.
  • Level up SEO: keyword strategy and clustering, on-page optimization, internal linking, technical hygiene (with dev), and high-quality backlink outreach.
  • Improve site performance and conversion (CRO): ship A/B tests, refine UX, and optimize forms, offers, and funnels.
  • Build TDL’s social presence (especially LinkedIn): plan and publish short-form content, engage communities, and amplify wins, case studies, and research.
  • Instrument analytics and reporting in GA4, Search Console, and HubSpot; translate data into weekly insights and concrete actions.
  • Create and polish marketing collateral (posts, one-pagers, case studies, decks) that communicate ideas with clarity and brand consistency.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally (consulting, design, dev, partnerships) to keep campaigns moving—own timelines, reviews, and stakeholder updates.
  • Support light paid amplification (search/social/retargeting) to scale top-performing content efficiently.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate who thrives on performing diverse activities, does not mind task-switching, and is extremely detail-oriented:

  • Experience: 3+ years in a marketing, communications, or growth-oriented role (e.g., Marketing Analyst, Digital Marketing Associate, or equivalent)

  • Analytic Rigor: Excellent at balancing creativity with data-driven precision, able to interpret metrics and insights without losing speed

  • Business Sense: Strong ability to prioritize marketing initiatives based on strategic impact and organizational goals

  • Communication: Excellent communicator with a mastery of written and spoken English, able to craft clear messages for both internal and external audiences, and proficient user of Slack

About the role

  • Expected hours: 40h-45/week

  • Timezone: EST - we expect the Research Analyst to be available at least 8 hrs between 7am EST and 5pm EST.

  • Salary: $2700-3300CAD/month

  • Health Insurance/HMO Allowance: Provided on top of salary after the end of the probationary period
