Role Summary

  • This remote full-time position, primarily sought after in India, Malaysia, China, South Africa, and Brazil, offers you a unique opportunity to cultivate a diverse portfolio of funders tackling climate change.
  • You will be responsible for spearheading fund-raising campaigns and managing relationships with funders while building cases for support across diverse interests.
  • You'll also be supporting the organisation by sharing development expertise and imparting fundraising skills to other team members.

Role Requirements

  • At least 3 years of fundraising experience with proven track record of securing five-figure-plus gifts is required.
  • Need to possess excellent communication, managerial, networking abilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • An honest inclination towards ProVeg's mission with some familiarity about the climate change, food systems or animal advocacy sectors is ideal.
  • A second language proficiency and willingness to travel internationally is preferable but not mandatory.

As our International Development Manager, you will be responsible for cultivating a diverse portfolio of funders who are accelerating the transition to a sustainable global food system, tackling climate change and ensuring that the food we eat is good for all people, animals and the planet. You will be a champion for our mission, able to think creatively about how to attract interest across sectors and translate the impact of our work to speak to a range of audiences. Your work will include face-to-face engagement, proposal development, and sharing your expertise internally, to ensure everyone at ProVeg has the skills to be a great fundraiser. Job Details

Reports to: Global Head of Development

Department: Development

Location: Fully Remote. We are particularly interested in candidates based in India, Malaysia, China, South Africa and Brazil.

Hours: 32-40 h per week

Salary: dependent on location, working hours and level of experience


Responsibilities
  • Together with the team, contribute to and implement a multi-year development strategy and annual objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective funders, acting as the central point of contact for the organisation and overseeing all aspects of relationship management, including reporting. 
  • Lead the development of funding proposals and grant applications, coordinating cross-function teams to develop a programmatic concept, theory of change, narrative proposal, budget, log frame and other documents, as required.
  • Work with Programme, Impact and Country Teams to develop cases for support, pitch packages, and stories tailored to funders with diverse interests. 
  • Ensure ProVeg is represented in the right places with the right messages, both through direct external representation yourself, and also by supporting the Senior Leadership Team and other colleagues with key messages, materials and strategies. 
  • Support ProVeg country teams with fundraising strategy development, practical advice, expertise and processes to deliver effective national fundraising strategies. 
  • Support the wider organisation to engage in fundraising processes, including effective use of the CRM, proposal development processes and relationship management practices. 
  • Share development expertise to support other teams’/countries’ internal projects and workstreams, such as the annual impact report, end-of-year match campaign, and Impact and Programmes strategy development.
  • Other administrative support as required. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing five-figure-plus gifts, including new donor acquisition and multi-year commitments.
  • You have excellent written communication skills, and can write winning funding proposals and compelling reports for funders. 
  • You are a skilled verbal communicator, able to lead virtual and in-person meetings with donors and partners, and communicate ProVeg’s work in inspiring, creative, and persuasive ways.
  • You are an excellent project manager, able to meet deadlines and manage a varied and fast-paced workload. 
  • You can network effectively and represent ProVeg with a wide range of stakeholders, nurturing and cultivating relationships into long-term, mutually-beneficial partnerships. 
  • You bring an entrepreneurial mindset, and can think creatively to find new solutions to challenges. 
  • You have a genuine passion for and commitment to ProVeg's mission.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with the climate change, food systems or animal advocacy sectors. 
  • Experience working with–and securing funding from–complex or novel funding mechanisms. 
  • Experience developing or managing project budgets. 
  • Experience with organising or contributing to inspiring, creative, and persuasive events for major donors.
  • Working proficiency in a second language.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (on rare occasions).
