Role Summary

  • Maintain freight supplier invoices, resolve queries and ensure accurate recording of freight costs

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join the Supply Chain Finance team of a global publishing company. This position would suit a recent graduate seeking their first step into a finance career, or someone with some relevant experience looking for a new challenge.

This role will be responsible for controlling outbound freight costs, preparing monthly reporting packs for third-party clients, and producing weekly operational KPI reports. It also supports the wider finance team by maintaining high-quality files and providing analysis that enables accurate cost reporting and effective financial planning.

Extensive training and support will be provided as you grow and develop within the role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Validate freight supplier invoices and work with external contacts to resolve invoice queries

  • Ensure freight costs are accurately recorded within the supporting finance files

  • Prepare weekly KPI dashboards to support the Operations Team and third-party clients

  • Produce monthly reporting packs for third-party clients

  • Prepare third-party freight charges for inclusion in the monthly billing

  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc analysis and project work

Key Attributes & Skills

  • Degree in Finance or a related discipline

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload effectively

  • Solid time-management and organisational skills

  • Excellent Excel skills
