This is a unique opportunity to help transform the lives of thousands of children across the UK through our pioneering surf therapy programme. As part of our ambitious fundraising strategy, this role offers the chance to unlock significant untapped potential and shape the future of our corporate income strategy.

Your week might include:

Pitching to inspire potential corporate partners

Crafting stewardship plans for a range of b-corps and national business

Writing sponsorship proposals for events like our Surfarthons or Santa Surfs

Representing The Wave Project at high-profile events such as the Blue Earth Summit or Royal Cornwall Show

Supporting Project Coordinators with local corporate pitches and partnerships

Growing our business membership scheme, Surf Therapy Alliance, and our Feel Good Food Club

No two days are the same—and that’s part of the joy of working with us. We offer trust-based, flexible working, and all non-delivery staff are encouraged to participate in a six-week surf therapy programme (during work hours) to truly connect with our mission.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced Corporate Fundraiser with:

Proven success in prospecting and managing key relationships with corporates and individuals

Strong financial acumen, including KPIs, reporting, and budget management

A track record of meeting income targets and deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive proposals and impactful presentations

The ability to manage a supporter pipeline, identify opportunities, and steward corporate relationships for long-term success

A collaborative mindset to support colleagues with our range of fundraising campaigns, targets and determination to scale up national partnerships

Key Responsibilites

Steward existing corporate supporters to foster long-term, strategic engagement Identify and cultivate new corporate partnerships

Develop compelling proposals and donor communications

Develop impactful presentations and updates to harness corporate support

Support Project Coordinators with local fundraising efforts

Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising and CEO to maximise on networking opportunities

Drive growth in our Business Membership and Feel Good Food Club

Stay informed on sector best practices, regulations, and partnership trends

Work cross-functionally across our supportive team to maximise income

Represent The Wave Project as a passionate ambassador

Person Specification

We welcome applicants with at least 5 years’ experience in the charity sector—or equivalent transferable skills from other industries.

You’ll be able to demonstrate:

Skills & Experience Relationship management expertise across diverse audiences Strategic planning and multitasking to meet fundraising goals

Strong communication and influencing skills

Confidence in acquiring new business through research, applications, and presentations

Excellent presentation and writing skills CRM/database proficiency (Beacon experience a plus)

Financial literacy: budgets, forecasting, and reporting

Attention to detail and project prioritisation Up-to-date knowledge of the fundraising landscape

Full UK driving licence Personal Attributes Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible

Able to work independently and take initiative

A team player who supports colleagues across the charity

Deeply passionate about improving young people’s mental health
