What is the UK’s Happiest Job?

At holidaycottages.co.uk, we’re on a mission to spread holiday happiness by celebrating the joys of UK getaways. Whether it’s a solo coffee on the coast path or a family movie night by the fire, we all have a dream holiday moment in mind – and we call this your happy place. 

To help us find the UK’s happiest places, we asked our guests to nominate their favourite getaway destinations and memories. Over 12,000 holidaymakers answered the call, and we need someone to turn those special memories into stories that inspire...

The Joy Seeker role explained

Our UK’s Happiest Job competition is open to anyone with a passion for UK travel. The official winner – our selected Joy Seeker – will embark on a 12-month content creation role and receive a gross prize of £30,000. 

The role itself is joyfully simple. The winner will travel to our guests’ 12 happiest holiday destinations across the UK, with the task of producing property and location content to inspire future getaways. 

Along the way, we’ll provide our chosen Joy Seeker with free accommodation in our most popular holiday cottages, along with travel expenses and a monthly content brief.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for the face of our Happy Place campaign. A person with a passion for exploring the UK. Someone with experience in creating engaging, first-person content. 

From short social clips to long-form video, from snappy captions to compelling blogs, our happiest places need a storyteller, and we’re on the hunt for someone with the enthusiasm and ability to do just this. 

Throughout the year, we’ll leverage our Joy Seeker’s content by sharing it among the press and across our digital marketing channels – you can expect to see your face and stories everywhere.
