Events Manager

The Degrees Initiative, a UK-based NGO focused on climate change and development, is seeking an Events Manager. This new role is crucial as we expand our efforts to empower the Global South in evaluating solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial climate change mitigation technique. Our organization remains neutral on the use of SRM but advocates for informed participation from developing countries in global discussions.

Role: As the Events Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of our international events, including the biennial Degrees Global Forum and quarterly regional research workshops. These events are designed to foster collaboration, showcase research outcomes, and advance our mission of supporting equitable SRM research.

Job requirements: Candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five years in managing international events. You should be adept at handling complex logistics, coordinating hybrid or virtual events, and managing budgets and external suppliers. A university degree in a relevant field is required, and the ability to travel internationally is essential.
