The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation dedicated to improving health by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships. We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and addressing three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health. These challenges require bold science, which we support, but they also need more than just scientific solutions.

The role: As a Procurement Officer, you will be part of our evolving Procurement team, which is transitioning to a centralised service model in 2026. This role is crucial in supporting the organisation through this change and embedding the new centralised category management service delivery model. You will support the Procurement Category Managers in developing and implementing comprehensive procurement strategies and systems, working closely with budget holders to ensure decisions are commercially sound and aligned with departmental objectives.

Job requirements: Candidates should be able to design and run efficient end-to-end procurement, contracting, and contract management processes, ensuring value for money and risk mitigation. Strong interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills are essential, as is experience in contract development and negotiation in a private sector procurement role.

Benefits: Wellcome offers a hybrid way of working, with three days in our Euston Road offices and two days working remotely. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a fair and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Flexible working options and adjustments for those with disabilities or long-term conditions are available.
