Be part of something better
At Wildfarmed, we believe our food should be better. For you and for nature.
Wildfarmed makes better food for everyone, using wheat, oats and barley grown in unique and fully traceable regenerative fields. Our farming has a positive impact on nature, supporting biodiversity, better soil health, cleaner rivers and reducing carbon. That’s why the best in the business have been using our flour for years, from artisan bakeries to Michelin starred chefs and why our bread is now stocked in Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco.
We are on a mission to get better food from better farms onto every high street. If this sounds like something you want to be part of, read on..
What will you be doing?
As a commercially minded Software Engineer at Wildfarmed, you’ll help create the next generation of Wildfarmed technology, supporting the business as it scales by delivering data, insight, and automation.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Understanding business needs and co-creating solutions directly with business teams.
- Engineering for scale: Building flexible, high-quality code and processes that can handle our rapid growth.
- Working across the stack: Delivering both backend systems and front-ends (web apps, not marcoms), including chat interfaces.
- Building & owning: Taking responsibility for the design, development, and deployment of the systems we build.
- Embracing AI: Using AI to boost productivity and architect solutions while ensuring quality outputs.
This role would suit you if:
- You have proven experience as a Software Engineer capable of working across the stack.
- You have years of backend development experience ideally with Python as your core language (but not mandatory) and some frontend experience.
- You are an expert in database design and SQL.
- You have experience with REST APIs (& GraphQL experience is a bonus), cloud infrastructure (we use GCP), CI/CD, and Git.
You'll thrive if you…
- Are a clear communicator who can engage with the business in an open and collaborative way, explaining technical concepts along the way
- Have strong analytical skills with the ability to get into a problem and work out an elegant solution
- Love the pace of a lean fast-moving environment.
- You have an interest in building technology with real-world impact, supporting our groundbreaking regenerative food and farming mission.
