Sharky + George is a creative events company built on one simple belief: the power of play can transform how people connect, celebrate and experience the world. From our offices in Brook Green and Bristol, our core team of 28 works alongside a 200-strong party team of actors to bring our events to life. We design immersive experiences for children and adults alike, and with more than 200 events delivered every month, play is at the heart of everything we do. 

What is the Corporate Team at Sharky + George? 

Sharky + George’s Corporate Team specialises in crafting creative, high-impact experiences for businesses and their people. We split our time between both children’s and adults’ events. On the children’s side, that means seasonal Bring-Your-Child-to-Work days, summer family festivals and bespoke company holiday camps. For adults, it’s everything from summer sports days (with a twist!) and Christmas treasure hunts through the City, to international off-sites, and immersive murder mystery evenings. Every event is unique, and centred around the power of play. 

Role:

The role is based within our Corporate Team as a Senior Event Planner. Here’s an overview of the role and responsibilities: 

  • You will need to have a commercial mindset and demonstrate a track record of maximising the profitability of events, creating accurate cost sheets and proactively upselling to clients.
  • Create and nurture relationships with existing and new clients, with a particular focus on encouraging clients on the children’s side to work with us for their adult events. 
  • Attend networking events to showcase S+G to corporate clients and proactively make new connections and relationships.
  • Budget management for projects of all different sizes and invoicing
  • You will work closely with the S+G Creative Team to put event proposals and pitches together for clients with bespoke briefs.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of mid-large scale events from the briefing stage through to planning and implementation, including full event management.
  • Dealing with external suppliers to provide event extras such as face painting, balloon modelling, and catering. 
  • Creative thinking and implementation of ideas for events, with a focus on creating proposals on Canva for bespoke events. 

Experience and skills we’re looking for: 

  • At least 3 years of experience in event management 
  • Thrives in a very fast-paced environment 
  • Meticulously organised and forward-thinking
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects against tight deadlines
  • Punctual and reliable with a flexible approach to work
  • A ‘can-do’ and proactive attitude
  • Excellent phone manner and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to develop good working relationships with clients and team members
  • The ability to be adaptive, responsive and to problem solve whilst remaining calm under pressure and professional at all times 
  • Friendly, enthusiastic and personable 
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient on Google Docs/Sheets (skills on Canva, Monday desirable) 

Detail:

This role is full-time to commence at the earliest opportunity. Salary for the role will be subject to experience. The role is predominantly London-based with some flexibility for home working after the 3-month probationary period. You would be joining a very friendly and hard-working team of like-minded event planners at an HQ filled with games, sweets, toys and cake!
