Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • A first degree in environmental studies, climate change or related fields and up to 4 years of experience in decarbonisation space.
  • Passion for climate change solutions and the role finance plays.
  • Proven project management, research, technical writing, and people skills.
  • Master's degree in related field, knowledge of sustainable finance markets and second languages are desirable.

Role Overview: Join our team as a Climate Bonds Resilience Taxonomy Analyst where you'll be at the forefront of coordinating technical experts and organizing meetings while conducting thorough research to develop adaptation and resilience screening criteria for various activities and investments across multiple sectors of the economy.

How you'll contribute:

  • Create influential insights for every sector, which involves conducting extensive online research and engaging with key stakeholders through interviews to: 
  1. Identify organisations and work already done in this area that could be leveraged   
  2. Identify the key climate and other green and social challenges and solutions facing that sector  
  3. Identify a suitable lead technical consultant or academic who could develop the criteria and supporting individuals who could form the TWG and IWG.  
  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead and our management team, you will oversee the criteria development process. Your goal will be to ensure that the criteria align with scientific consensus on definitions and meet market demands, and are driven and supported by the TWG.  
  • Craft comprehensive technical documents, including the issues paper, while collaborating closely with the technical lead to develop the criteria and background materials.
  • Coordinate the TWG and IWG meetings, supporting the technical lead in preparing documents and slides, and synthesizing technical discussions. 
  • Assist in executing the engagement strategy that promotes understanding and use of the taxonomy and criteria. This will involve hosting both internal and external webinars, along with engaging discussion materials.
  • Become the go-to expert for specific sectors within CBI.

Requirements

  • You have a good first degree in a related subject (environment, climate change etc)  
  • You can demonstrate 2-4 years experience in a collaborative role with key experience in the carbon finance/ environmental/ climate change/ decarbonisation space.    
  • You have a keen interest in climate change solutions and the role finance plays  
  • You have proven project management experience with the ability to manage, coordinate and prioritise   
  • You have proven research and technical writing experience 
  • You are enthusiastic, motivated, outgoing  
  • You are organised  
  • You have excellent English writing and oral skills  
  • You have strong people management skills  

Desirable:

  • Masters in related subject (environment or finance)  
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance markets  
  • Knowledge of climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience, or a specific sector (Water, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, transport, industry)  
  • Second languages
