Join TERN's mission to support refugee entrepreneurs through our innovative 2026 UP Collective programme - a pre-incubation business support programme. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to empower and guide budding entrepreneurs in refining their business ideas while enhancing their overall business acumen and personal development. Learn more about the UP Collective, which is run in partnership with Ben & Jerry's.
Role Summary:
- Mentor a refugee entrepreneur on a one-to-one basis to support them to explore their business ideas.
- Collaborate in developing and testing their ideas during workshops and at two test events.
- Provide guidance and share your expertise.
- Participate in weekly group workshops, both online and in Central London, from mid-April to end of July.
Application Process Details:
- Complete a short application form.
- Attend a short 20 minute interview to discuss your application.
- Upon being accepted, join a group information call with other mentors to discuss the programme.
What are we looking for?
You're the ideal mentor if you...
- Are available for 2 hours per week (inclusive of cohort-based workshops and 1:1 check-ins).
- Are able to travel to Hoxton, London for in-person workshops and key testing events (the workshops are a mixture of online and in-person).
- Have strong mentoring capabilities with a supportive and encouraging approach.
- Have 3+ years experience as an entrepreneur or in start-ups, or sectors such as (but not limited to) eCommerce, consulting, food & beverage, SaaS, AI, social enterprise, sustainability, fashion, arts & design.
- Enjoy using your entrepreneurial experience to empower others.
What difference will you make?
You will be supporting entrepreneurs from a refugee background to enable them to test and explore their business idea(s). For your mentee, you'll be a sounding board, a guide, a leader, a supporter, someone to provide tips, advice and expert insights. Mentors are an integral part of the programme - we simply can't do it without them.
