ABOUT THE ROLE
As Global Product Merchandiser, you will lead the seasonal collection and category strategy across all Finisterre product lines, working closely with the Chief Product Officer and Senior Leadership team to shape the long-term product vision of the brand. This is a highly collaborative and dynamic role, acting as the central liaison between Product, Design, Buying & Merchandising, Marketing, Retail, Wholesale, and international teams. Blending analytical insight with creative thinking, you will define clear range strategies and ensure each collection is commercially strong, brand-aligned, and built to support growth across global and wholesale markets. You will be responsible for selling tools and seasonal product guides, creating collection notes / product knowledge and product over-views. This role is pivotal in growing our International and Wholesale business – indicating strategic products and key price points for new customer acquisition in new markets. Working closely with marketing on product & brand marketing pushes and product campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Range and Product Strategy
- Lead the global product range strategy for Finisterre’s mainline collection, ensuring a cohesive, differentiated assortment aligned to brand vision and global market needs.
- Manage the Global Range Selection for all channels and markets, working closely with the channels, wholesale, and regional teams.
- Partner cross-functionally with Design, Buying, and Commercial teams to shape future ranges that deliver distinct product identities while driving growth priorities, international expansion, new and repeat customer targets, and overall business strategy.
- Support the CPO in developing the 3–5 year product and category roadmap, identifying strategic growth & product opportunities, product priorities aligned to long-term business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Buying and Merchandising teams to build and scale Hero products, continuity, and NOS programmes, planning and forecasting assortments through a global, demand-led lens.
- Lead the development of seasonal product briefs and range plans in partnership with Buying and Merchandising, providing Design and Product Development with clear category strategies, option and style counts, pricing architecture, new product briefs, and trend and competitive insights.
- Own the pricing architecture and overall shape of the range, identifying entry, core, and exit price points, addressing price gaps, and defining a clear pricing strategy that supports margin, accessibility, and brand positioning.
- Own and lead key product range forums and milestone meetings (e.g., Collection Kick-Offs, line reviews, go-to-market workshops, trainings), ensuring alignment across Product, Marketing, Retail, and Wholesale on seasonal priorities, storytelling, and commercial objectives.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration throughout the Collection Kick-Off and Sign-Off process, delivering strategic insights through trend analysis, global market intelligence, category growth opportunities, and long-term product initiatives.
- Partner with Buying and Merchandising teams to develop comprehensive seasonal retrospective analyses, synthesizing global best- and worst-performing styles, sell-through metrics, and identifying whitespace opportunities to inform future assortment strategies.
Retail, Wholesale, and Cross Department Product Liaison
- Working closely with Head of Retail, Wholesale and Ecom in gathering and collating feedback from global teams to incorporate into future ranges.
- Organize marketing, retail, wholesale, and ecommerce training sessions, ahead of each seasonal launch sharing knowledge and details for each new collection.
- Awareness and adherence of the key, global critical path dates for market launch dates, kick-offs, and new product launches
Selling Tools
- Oversee the seasonal product knowledge document for marketing, retail, ecommerce, and wholesale providing details on each new collection; including all product specs, product story-telling, mood & inspiration, key product focuses and styling / look suggestions.
- Create Seasonal brand presentations to showcase key product initiatives & future growth strategies. Including Biggest buys, bestsellers for the drops, key stories.
Trend & Competitive Benchmarking
- Create BI-annual trend report presentations to include in seasonal kick-off presentations.
- Complete brand positioning and competitive studies, by category and by region.
- Identify potential strategic entry product and price points for the Finisterre range.
- Provide trend reports, competitor analysis and market research to ensure we meet current & future customer needs.
- Using online & print resources to stay informed and inspired on recent outdoor, surf & brand trends.
Support Collab Strategy and Key Contact
- Support Chief Product Officer on all Finisterre product collaborations; Defining the collaboration strategy, managing the relationships and overseeing the contracts, legalities, and planning.
Requirements
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO FINISTERRE
- 5 + Year’s experience in product strategy, range planning, or merchandising within an apparel or lifestyle brand, with a strong understanding of how to build commercially successful collections.
- A proven ability to translate brand vision, customer insight, and commercial data into clear product and range strategies that drive growth.
- Strong experience working cross-functionally with Design, Buying, Merchandising, and Commercial teams to develop cohesive, globally relevant collections.
- A deep understanding of assortment architecture, pricing strategy, and category planning, with the ability to balance creativity with commercial performance.
- Experience analysing product performance, customer behaviour, and market trends to inform future range development and strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence presenting product strategies and insights to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- The ability to lead complex seasonal processes, ensuring teams stay aligned to key milestones, product priorities, and global go-to-market timelines.
- A strong awareness of the competitive landscape and emerging trends within the outdoor, surf, and lifestyle sectors.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to bring teams together around a shared product vision and strategy.
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for product, storytelling, and building ranges that resonate with both loyal and new customers globally.
- An interest in sustainability, responsible product development, and the evolving future of the outdoor industry.
