Day-to-day responsibilities include providing data administration and reporting activities/support to the Scheduling team. This team is responsible for allocating approximately 450 consultants to projects, ensuring each consultant is well-matched to project requirements while also supporting their professional development goals and personal aspirations. This is a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, requiring quick thinking and decisive decision-making.
This role will predominantly support the Resource Manager for the Public Sector which consists of three market groups: Central Government, Local Government and Health & Integration. The alignment to that sector or one of our other markets (Consumer and Defence & Infrastructure) may be required in the future as business needs evolve.
Key responsibilities:
- Scheduling and resourcing Newton programmes, ensuring optimal resource allocation in terms of project quality, project profitability and staff development
- Responsible for a significant process in scheduling as it applies to the whole business e.g. skills capture or first project allocation. As well as running the process they will be the person primarily responsible for its continued improvement as the business grows
- Providing administrative assistance to the Resource Managers, predominantly Public sector, however, collaboration, annual leave and sickness cover across sectors may be required
- Supporting the Public Resource Manager with negotiations with senior stakeholders to deliver resourcing requirements
- Formulating ideas to improve project resourcing, profitability and staff experience and then making those ideas a reality
- Liaising, influencing and partnering effectively to build relationships at all levels and with multiple stakeholders who may have conflicting requirements
- Working with and analysing resourcing data to ensure we are always on top of the resourcing of our programmes and are providing up-to-date reporting to stakeholders
- Shared Inbox management and responding to ad-hoc queries
- Assistance with the coordination of consultant downtime activities
- Liaising with internal teams (e.g. Recruitment, Project Teams) and consultants in coordination of resource
- Undertaking catch-up calls with consultants to discuss upcoming work, interests, aspirations etc.
- Data validation and entry within the Scheduling databases and other systems
- Maintenance of Scheduling reports
- Support and drive Scheduling improvement projects
- Deputise for Resource Managers where required

- Able to deal with a rapidly-changing environment
- Able to deal confidentially with personal and sensitive information
- Can attend our Head Office in Oxfordshire once a week (Wednesdays)
