Job purpose:
We’re looking for a Junior Designer to join our marketing team in Cornwall. This is a brand-new role and we are looking for a talented and passionate creative who can develop their career here at Origin. Perhaps you’re a graduate looking for your first design role, or someone with a year or so under their belt, either way there is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow as a designer.
Origin also works with an external design agency; A-Side Studios. A-Side forms a team of experienced and talented designers who work closely with Origin and will be wonderful partner for this new in-house role.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Own the design and print output for our busy coffee release schedule: artworking labels, tasting cards and digital assets.
- Supporting the Origin coffee shops with POS toolkits and responding to ad hoc design requirements.
- Updating email templates to support weekly email send schedule.
- Creating digital assets for social and ecommerce.
- Creating beautiful presentation documents which showcase our brand and support various business opportunities.
- Competitor research: ensuring we are ahead of the game from a design and creative perspective.
The role requires:
- At least 1 year of experience as an intern or full-time employee in equivalent role.
- Design degree qualification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of relevant software; Adobe Creative Suite.
- Awareness of how to use After Effects and UD would be valued.
- Competent with creating print-ready design files.
- A creative mindset.
- Strong attention to detail; it will be important to review copy while you are designing.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team.
- Strong proficiency in organization, problem solving and communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and towards deadlines.
The person will be:
- Eager to develop both print and digital design skills.
- Meticulously organised, efficient, and impeccable at time keeping.
- Comfortable working under pressure and obsessed about the detail.
- Bound in confidence, a lot of personality, good humoured and trustworthy.
