Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a vertically integrated synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise industries you can’t electrify. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. Over the past 2 years, we’ve designed and manufactured a modular synthetic fuel plant consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years. We now have clear line of sight to producing synthetic fuels cheaper than fossil over the next 5-10 years, becoming the first company in history to achieve this feat, allowing us to access one of the largest liquid markets on earth and forcing industry to adopt our new standard. We’re looking for a Technical Operations Lead with the scar-tissue to own the integration between our engineering, manufacturing, deployment and commercial functions with incredible execution. We have one single goal – reduce the levelised cost of methane to the point drilling stops and companies mine the sky for carbon. If you urge to make a difference in the real-world, surrounded by people you admire doing great work with intensity, this is for you. The role: Optimise critical engineering, manufacturing and deployment processes. These could include: Designing factory layouts and assembly/test flows for production velocity while maximising quality and repeatability. Examples are: Leading technical due diligence for project finance so we can secure funding to scale. Defining our permitting and deployment strategy to align with commercial demand. Core skills: 5+ years professional experience Bachelor’s or Master’s in related field (ideally engineering) Track-record of executing technical projects in a hardware or infrastructure environment Bonus skills: Have worked in a fast-paced startup environment Have lots of interesting side projects you tinker on, have written about, or are generally curious to work on Have worked specifically within fuels, commodities or chemicals Specifics: £70 – 90k salary depending on experience Significant share options as part of the early team In-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South-East London – flexibility considered based on personal circumstances Extensive relocation support, including £6000 per year extra to live close to our HQ Private health insurance Visa sponsorship available Unlimited time-off We encourage exceptional applicants from all backgrounds to apply for this role, even if they do not meet all the requirements listed.
