About the Role

We are looking for an NPD and Technical Assistant to join our growing team.

You will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support across new product development, customer due diligence, product specifications, complaint management, and supply chain integrity. This is a detail-oriented, process-driven role at the heart of our technical and NPD function.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Development Support

  • Support the NPD Manager from a technical perspective, linking with the Technical Lead on all queries
  • Receive and send product samples
  • Support NPD project management
  • Manage regular product quality reviews, including sensory panels
  • Ensure products in development comply with the company’s technical ethos
  • Ensure the business complies with all statutory and customer labelling requirements

Customer Technical Support

  • Link with the sales team to answer due diligence questionnaires and portal requests from a technical perspective, including customer format specifications and the use of customer portals
  • Collect and maintain a business-wide database of manufacturer ethical, environmental, and technical policies
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customer enquiries

Complaint Management

  • Log complaints and manage investigations in conjunction with other departments
  • Report findings and outcomes to customers and consumers
  • Collate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and distribute to relevant customers, working closely with the Operations team

Product Specifications

  • Create, update, and revise finished product specifications accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure finished product specifications are available prior to launch and form part of the NPD process
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of supplier specifications linked to finished product specs, with a full visible audit trail

Supply Chain Integrity

  • Manage the approved supplier list from a technical perspective, ensuring all information is current and reviewed monthly with the Technical Consultant
  • Carry out regular traceability and mass balance exercises to guarantee claims made on products (Wildfarmed Regenerative Standards, nutrition, etc.)
  • Manage product sampling and analysis in line with the sampling plan
  • Monitor Certificates of Analysis and communicate relevant outcomes to customers
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System

About You

Experience

  • Degree in food technology, food science, or a related discipline
  • Awareness or training in VACCP, HACCP, or TACCP
  • Passion for food, regenerative farming, and making a genuine difference

  • All product specifications are accurate, up to date, and available ahead of launch
  • Customer due diligence requests are handled promptly and to a high standard
  • The approved supplier list and traceability records are fully maintained and audit-ready
  • Complaints are investigated and resolved efficiently, with clear communication to customers
  • You are a trusted, go-to technical contact for the NPD Manager and customers alike
