As the estate manager at Loch Arkaig, you'll be acting as a project manager providing oversight to the team and ensuring budget optimization. You'll be responsible for staff management, forging positive relationships with various stakeholders to ensure the project's success.

Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • Experience in environmental land management and native woodland management
  • Proficiency in managing restoration projects and budgets
  • Experience in procurement and contract management with knowledge in commercial operations
  • Confidence in partnership development and experience in working with fundraising teams

The role: As the Estate Manager at Loch Arkaig, you will take overall responsibility for project management and the project team, including effective budget management to ensure value for money. You will line manage the Site Manager and potentially other staff to ensure they help realise the vision and remain motivated and able to carry out their roles efficiently and effectively. You will also develop and manage positive relationships with community partner Arkaig Community Forest, the wider community, neighbouring landowners, funders, and key stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead on the development of the Beò Airceig partnership, support the fundraising team to secure funds, and provide line management and support for any WT staff associated with the project.

Job requirements: You should be experienced in environmental land management with experience of native woodland management. You should be used to managing landscape scale nature restoration projects and programmes, and proficient in managing, monitoring, and reporting on budgets. Experience in procurement and contract management, and knowledge of commercial operations are essential. You should be confident in partnership development to deliver strategic impact and experienced working with fundraisers to develop successful funding bids.
