Role Summary Scope of the role The Project Accountant will support the Finance Business Partner and wider programme teams in the financial management of donor funded programmes across multiple funding streams. The role will focus on project accounting, financial monitoring, and donor reporting, whilst ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The postholder will play a key role in improving and strengthening project accounting processes to support greater accuracy and consistency across the function. Key Responsibilities • Support day-to-day financial management of projects and maintain accurate financial records • Review project accounting processes and identify improvements and efficiencies • Monitor spend versus budget and provide variance analysis • Provide month-end programme accounting and reporting • Prepare donor reports and support audit requirements Person Specification • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail • Confident working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders • Hands on approach with strong understanding of best practices • Strong Excel skills, including experience using formulas, pivot tables, and financial analysis tools Required experience • Recognised finance/accountancy qualification • Previous experience in a finance, project accounting, or management accounting role • Experience within the non-profit, charity, or donor funded sector would be advantageous Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK to apply for this role.
