This is not a typical programme management role. vocL sits at the intersection of business, leadership, public affairs, policy and technology. Through our programmes and growing network, we work with business leaders who wish to engage more thoughtfully, confidently and responsibly in public and professional life.
Our community includes senior business leaders, influential industry voices, respected journalists and emerging talent from across the UK. We create spaces where important conversations happen and where future leaders develop the confidence and credibility to contribute to debates shaping business and society.
As part of a small and ambitious team, you would help deliver leadership programmes, shape member experiences and support a growing network of highly engaged participants and stakeholders.
The role offers an unusual level of exposure and responsibility. One week could involve coordinating a live discussion with a former Cabinet Minister, the next helping shape programme content, supporting policy focused conversations or contributing to the review and recognition of outstanding participant contributions across the programmes.
If you are highly organised, confident, proactive and energised by leadership, current affairs and meaningful work that has real world relevance, we would love to hear from you.
Main Responsibilities:
Programme Management and Participant Experience
- Support the delivery and ongoing development of the vocL Leader Programmes, helping create a high quality and engaging experience for participants across multiple cohorts. This includes co-ordinating programme activities, mentors, contributors, and speakers while building strong relationships with members and supporting high levels of participation and engagement.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Help foster the thoughtful, collaborative and high trust culture that defines vocL. You will support member onboarding, communications and engagement activity, act as a key point of contact for participants and stakeholders and help deliver online and in person events across the network.
Platform and Product Coordination
- Act as the day to day contact for app developers and external technology partners, supporting the continued evolution of the vocL app and wider digital experience. You will help manage platform content and administration, gather user feedback and contribute ideas that strengthen participation and member experience.
Strategic and Operational Support
- Support the wider vocL team across programme delivery, stakeholder engagement and organisational growth activity. This includes coordinating follow up actions, preparing briefing materials, conducting research and contributing to wider strategic projects and initiatives.
Our Ideal Applicant Profile…
We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing people, ideas and conversations together. Somebody who is naturally organised and proactive, but also curious about leadership, communication, current affairs and the role business can play in society.
This role would suit someone who is energised by variety, enjoys working with ambitious people and is excited by the opportunity to grow within a fast moving and purpose driven organisation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
• Coordinating programmes, projects or communities within a fast-moving organisation or start up environment, whilst at the same time building strong relationships and communicating confidently across different stakeholder groups.
• Encouraging and supporting participant development, with an interest in coaching, mentoring or helping others build confidence and communication skills.
• Creating clear and engaging written communications as well as translating complex ideas into accessible and compelling content.
• Managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail, organisation and follow through.
• Working comfortably with digital platforms, technology and data, ideally including experience with apps, websites, CRM systems or community platforms.
• Supporting online and in-person events, member engagement activity and community communications.
We are also looking for someone who is:
• A proactive self-starter who enjoys taking ownership and making things happen.
• Comfortable working in a small, ambitious and evolving organisation where no two weeks look the same.
• Curious about leadership, business, current affairs and the role organisations play in society.
• Energised by bringing people together and helping create meaningful conversations and connections.
• Aligned with vocL’s values of being Grounded, Lively, Inclusive and Purposeful.
We offer:
• The opportunity to be part of a growing organisation working across business, policy making and technology, alongside an experienced remote team and highly influential senior stakeholders.
• A competitive remuneration package.
• A genuinely entrepreneurial environment where initiative, creativity and new ideas are encouraged and valued.
• A warm, collaborative and supportive team united by a shared belief in responsible leadership and the positive role business can play in society.
