About the role
As Roastery Goods-in Coordinator at Origin, you will oversee and manage all inbound Roastery operations, ensuring incoming inventory is received, checked, inspected, and accurately recorded within agreed KPI’s and objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of stock accuracy, traceability, and safety across roastery goods-in activities.
This role will ensure effective unloading, palletisation, identification, and storage of green coffee, with clear systems and processes in place to optimise workflow, space utilisation, and stock movement throughout the warehouse.
What you'll do
Incoming goods
Receiving coffee deliveries, ensuring all goods are safely unloaded, accurately counted, receipted and stored appropriately.
Storing, labelling and organising green coffee on racking in a structured and accessible manner.
Ensuring each lot is placed in appropriate location, aligned to the relevant product line and rotated as required.
Green Inventory Management
Taking ownership of inventory integrity through regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliation to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Liaising with supply chain, coffee team and operations to resolve any discrepancies, damage or inaccurate allocations
Layout and systems
Space Optimization: Managing warehouse layout to maximize storage capacity and efficiency, ensuring safe handling of goods.
Designing, printing and attaching labels to all stored coffee.
Systems Management: Utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Excel to track data, analyse performance, and generate daily/weekly KPIs.
Operational Compliance
Hygiene Standards: Maintaining high sanitation standards in the warehouse to prevent pests and bacterial growth
Conducting daily forklift checks, filling out the report form and flagging any issues
Work alongside the Operational Compliance Manager to ensure audit readiness: maintaining detailed records (temperature logs, pest control reports, cleaning schedules) for audits by authorities or third parties
Sanitation Scheduling and Execution
Implementation of Daily “clean as you go policies” or similar systems to boost a culture where staff clean up spills, debris, and dust immediately to prevent buildup
Scheduling deep cleaning regimes and supervising deep cleaning of warehouse floors, high-level racking, walls, and lighting to remove accumulated dust
Assigning staff to specific sanitations zones, clearly defined zones (e.g., loading docks, dry storage, roasting areas) for accountability in daily cleaning
Waste Management, ensuring food waste, broken packaging, and pallets are removed from the main warehouse to dedicated disposal areas promptly to deter pests
Who you are
You are a highly organised and process-driven warehouse professional with proven experience managing inbound goods and inventory control. You thrive in fast-paced operational environments and take pride in accuracy, efficiency, and clear ways of working.
