For those looking for an introduction to social leadership, and to gain insight into who they are as a leader and how to develop.

The Discover course is a great first step or refresh for anyone working for social change who is looking to develop themselves as leaders in order to transform their organisations, communities and the world around them.

The programme is certified by The Institute of Leadership.

Best for: This course is for anyone who leads projects, meetings, activities, etc. in a work context. It is for formal and informal leaders alike, with a focus on the traits of leadership that are not restricted to formal managers.

Emerging Leader

For budding social purpose leaders ready to grow their skills, confidence and impact.

Emerging Leader is a hybrid programme for people stepping into leadership and ready to take their skills to the next level. It brings together peers who are passionate about social change and keen to develop the confidence, knowledge and networks needed to lead projects, people and positive change more effectively.

It’s a strong fit if you have at least three years of leadership experience, paid or voluntary, and are leading projects, teams, volunteers or departments within or alongside a social purpose organisation.

The programme is certified by The Institute of Leadership.

Best for: Managers, project managers, team leaders, senior managers, Heads of, and people with around 3+ years’ leadership experience.

• Format: Online and in-person learning
• Time commitment: 10 days

For strategic leaders in the social purpose sector who want to strengthen their capability and drive sustainable impact.

Experienced Leader is a hybrid programme for senior leaders who are passionate about social change and using their leadership to help build a more inclusive and equitable society.

Running from September 2026 to April 2027, the programme supports leaders to explore the relational, strategic and systemic factors that shape effective leadership. It’s designed for people already making strategic decisions, leading teams or programmes, influencing organisational direction or navigating complex social purpose work.

The programme is certified by The Institute of Leadership.

Best for: Directors, Chief Executives, Heads of, senior managers, strategic decision makers, and people with around 6+ years’ leadership experience.

• Dates: September 2026 to April 2027
• Format: Online and in-person learning
• Time commitment: Around 9 days

Following this programme, you will deliver enhanced organisational effectiveness and greater social impact, with skills and tools to cascade development to your team. Throughout the programme you will engage with expert insight and practical learning you can apply straight away, tailored to the needs of the sector. This will include learning on systems thinking and approaches that can be used to drive organisational and systems change, along with wellbeing and how you can sustain your vital work in the sector. Management Fundamentals

This programme is for newly appointed managers, or current managers looking for a refresher.

During this online programme you will be introduced to an array of impactful and practical management tools and concepts. Learning will be delivered through a series of modules focusing on key management topics and will be further supported by two facilitated online workshops. These workshops aim to provide space to deepen your understanding and engage with your peers. The programme also includes a welcome and closing session to further strengthen connections among participants. In addition to management skills, the programme will engage participants in the foundational elements of leadership.

Best for: Officers, Coordinators, Managers, Advisors, Team Leaders, Caseworkers. This programme is open to individuals who work for or with organisations with a social purpose, including charities, social enterprises, CICs, CSR departments, etc.

• Format: 4 online sessions, 3-4 hours a week
• Time commitment: 7 weeks
