Role Summary
- Offer expert advice to landowners and farmers on woodland creation and restoration.

Role Requirements

- Experience in partnership working, networking, and relationship development.
- A valid driving licence; a vehicle will be provided for site visits and office travel.

The Woodland Trust is committed to protecting, restoring, and creating woodland environments. As an Outreach Adviser based in Northern Ireland, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission through expert guidance and project management in woodland conservation.
The role: • Provide expert technical advice to landowners and farmers on woodland creation, ancient woodland restoration, and sustainable management, aligning with the UK Forestry Standard and Woodland Trust principles. • Lead site-level assessments and surveys to design diverse projects, from small-scale planting to large conservation schemes. • Guide landowners through funding mechanisms, identifying grants and support to boost nature-positive interventions. • Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, contractor oversight, and reporting, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners to secure funding and share best practices in wooded habitat innovation. • Utilize GIS and CRM systems for accurate record-keeping of site assessments, client contacts, and project progress. • Collaborate across the Trust to develop new engagement strategies and maximize publicity for conservation successes.
Job requirements: • Experience in the land management sector, particularly in woodland conservation. • Knowledge of land management funding streams including grants. • Proven ability to manage and deliver landscape-scale projects on time and within budget. • Extensive experience in delivering woodland creation and advising on landscape scale projects. • Collaborative approach, effective in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Experience in partnership working, networking, and relationship development and management. • A driving licence is required as the role involves travel to sites and offices; a vehicle will be provided.
