What we're looking for We are seeking a seasoned Fund Controller to join our growing Finance team in London. This role sits at the centre of the firm’s investment platform and will own the operational and financial oversight of our investment vehicles globally. Working closely with Investment, Legal, Compliance and Portfolio teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running, reporting and scaling of our funds and related entities. The role combines technical fund finance expertise with operational ownership and strategic exposure. You will oversee core fund operations, valuations, portfolio reporting, capital activity and investor servicing, while helping to design scalable processes and structures to support the continued growth of the platform. ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant. Experience within venture capital, private equity, infrastructure or alternative investments. Strong understanding of fund operations, financial reporting and investment structures. Eagerness to explore and realise the impact that AI can have on internal operations and familiarity with tools such as Claude Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills, with advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior internal stakeholders and external service providers. Able to balance technical accuracy with commercial pragmatism and sound judgement. Proactive, collaborative and solutions-oriented, with a bias toward continuous improvement and process optimisation.
Fund Operations & Oversight Own the day-to-day operational and financial oversight of the firm’s investment vehicles and related entities globally. Manage relationships with third-party fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors and other external service providers. Oversee the delivery and review of quarterly and annual reporting, including financial statements, investor reporting, capital account statements, drawdowns and distributions. Monitor fund cash positions, liquidity requirements and capital deployment activity. Ensure operational processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with fund governing documents and internal controls. Own our Investment Committee process. Valuations, Portfolio Analysis & Reporting Own quarterly valuation processes and valuation committee reporting, applying sound commercial judgement to ensure portfolio valuations fairly reflect underlying performance and market conditions. Analyse portfolio company performance, investment activity and key fund performance metrics. Build financial models and scenario analysis to support funding rounds, exits, distributions and strategic decision-making. Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver meaningful reporting and insights to senior management and investors. Investment Operations & Structuring Support the execution and operational onboarding of new investments, investment vehicles and related structures. Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s legal and operational fund structures, capital flows and investment processes. Coordinate with Legal, Compliance and external advisors on fund structuring, governance and regulatory matters. Support fundraising activities, due diligence processes and investor requests as required. Process Improvement & Strategic Projects Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability and reporting quality across the investment platform. Design, refine and document processes, controls and reporting frameworks to support the continued growth of the business. Contribute to strategic and cross-functional projects across the wider Finance and Operations teams. Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the organisation. Experience with private markets fund structures, portfolio valuation methodologies or complex investment instruments would be advantageous.
