Role Requirements

  • PhD in mathematics, computer science or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with basic machine learning technical stack.

As the Technical Associate (or Senior Technical Associate), AI for Math at Renaissance Philanthropy, you will play a key role in scaling and shaping our emerging work at the intersection of AI and Mathematics. This is a rare opportunity to help build a globally significant initiative from the ground up—engaging top technical talent, reviewing ambitious proposal ideas, and launching ambitious field ideas for the public good. You’ll work closely with our Principal Scientist and AI for Math Team, supporting long-term vision while owning critical technical operations and ecosystem building work. Responsibilities include providing objective assessments, building systems, contributing to the technical diligence of grant proposals, supporting exploration of new program models, designing field building initiatives, and serving as a key driver of efforts to grow and strengthen the AI + Math ecosystem. Key qualifications include a PhD in mathematics, computer science or related discipline, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with basic machine learning technical stack.
