About the company At Semble, we are on a mission to enable health professionals to amplify their impact. We improve the way healthcare is delivered to millions of people by providing doctors and their teams with powerful, innovative, intuitive, and secure software. Our cloud-based clinical system is already used by thousands of clinicians, making their lives easier and saving them money, while structuring their health data to help research. We are a passionate and driven team, proud to unite under strong cultural drivers: Impact - We do work that matters. Collaboration – We are in it together. Human touch – We care deeply. We are also quick to embrace new technologies: we have rapidly adopted AI internally, and we are always looking to work with people who are excited to augment their work with AI.

What you will be doing We are hiring a Head of Data to define and execute Semble’s data strategy across product analytics, internal decision-making, and AI-enabled data capabilities. You will own the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Data domain, ensuring data is trusted, accessible, and actionable for clinicians, internal teams, and leadership.

Reporting into our Vice President of Technology, you will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning data engineering, analytics, and data-enabled software development. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Platform, Quality, Security, and Commercial teams to embed data deeply into how Semble builds, operates, and scales its healthcare platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set strategy, coach and grow the team, and stay close to architecture, prioritisation, and critical initiatives — particularly around internal data distribution, in-product analytics, and the responsible use of AI.

In this role, your responsibilities will span across: - Lead the Data function - Set and communicate a clear vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Data aligned with business, product, and regulatory goals. - Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing Data team, fostering ownership, high standards, and sustainable delivery. - Foster a collaborative, open, and inclusive culture, encouraging idea-sharing, joint problem-solving, and shared decision-making. - Establish clear engagement models with Product, Engineering, Platform, and Business teams to ensure data initiatives deliver measurable impact. - Represent Data at the Technology leadership level, contributing to cross-domain strategy and prioritisation.

- Enable data-driven decision-making at scale - Own internal data distribution, ensuring timely, reliable, and self-service access to insights for Product, Operations, Finance, and Leadership. - Define and evolve analytics models supporting product usage, operational performance, financial reporting, and healthcare-specific metrics. - Champion data literacy and adoption across the organisation, helping teams ask better questions and trust the answers. - Translate business and product needs into clear data outcomes, delivery plans, and trade-offs.

- Deliver data as a product (in-product analytics & client enablement) - Own the strategy and delivery of data and analytics surfaced directly within the Semble product, ensuring they are intuitive, reliable, and genuinely useful for clinicians and practice teams. - Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to treat data features as first-class product capabilities, from discovery and prioritisation through to delivery and iteration. - Define clear principles for what data belongs in-product versus internal analytics, balancing usability, performance, and regulatory constraints. - Enable clients to understand, explore, and act on their data, supporting use cases such as operational visibility, financial insights, and care-related reporting. - Ensure in-product data is trusted, explainable, and consistent, with strong alignment between underlying models, business logic, and user experience. - Continuously gather feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to improve data features and reporting experiences.

- Own the data platform, architecture, and governance - Provide strategic oversight of Semble’s data platform, including data ingestion, transformation, reporting layers, and data APIs, in close partnership with Platform and Engineering teams. - Ensure strong data quality, governance, lineage, and access controls in a regulated healthcare environment. - Define standards for data modelling, analytics engineering, and reporting to support both in-product and internal use cases. - Balance scalability, performance, cost, and compliance while enabling fast, safe iteration.

- Drive AI and advanced data capabilities - Lead the data side of Semble’s AI lifecycle, including data readiness, governance, experimentation, productisation, monitoring, and risk management. - Partner with Engineering and Product to deliver AI-powered features, automation, and intelligent data capabilities responsibly and securely within a healthcare context. - Ensure strong data foundations to enable future applied data science and machine-learning use cases where they deliver clear product or operational value. - Evaluate emerging data, analytics, and AI technologies, proactively framing opportunities, risks, and trade-offs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Execution and cross-functional leadership - Translate strategy into a sequenced, outcome-driven roadmap with clear success metrics. - Ensure consistent execution and momentum across initiatives, closing loops and removing blockers. - Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs with clarity to senior leadership and cross-functional partners. - Build trust across teams by acting as a partner and facilitator, not a siloed function.

What we are looking for - Proven experience leading Data teams and defining data strategy in a product-led SaaS or platform environment. - Strong technical understanding at a high level of modern data platforms, data architectures, and reporting layers. - A collaborative leader with an open, low-ego approach, who values discussion, feedback, and shared ownership. - Ability to set vision and direction while remaining pragmatic and receptive to team input. - Strong communication skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences and influence across domains. - Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. healthcare, finance) is a strong plus. - Exposure to AI-enabled products or data platforms is desirable, with a focus on responsible and practical application.

Why join Semble? - Lead Data at the heart of a fast-growing healthcare SaaS with real-world impact. - Shape how data and AI are embedded into both product and operations. - Work with a strong, collaborative Technology organisation that values clarity, trust, and pragmatism. - High autonomy, meaningful scope, and the opportunity to define what “great” looks like for Data at Semble.

What you’ll get in return - The great feeling coming with knowing you do something that matters: shaping the future of healthcare! - £110,000-£120,000 package (based on your experience and the value you can bring). - Autonomy and ownership – we’ll set the vision and share the context, then we trust you to run with things – that’s the reason we hire you! - 36 days off: 25 holidays +bank holidays +3 extra days (birthday and ‘feel good’ days) - that we will expect you to actually take so you can recharge and rest. - Company Equity - We appreciate and recognise all of our employees’ contributions, so everyone is eligible for Semble share options! - Comprehensive health & wellbeing support – including private health insurance, and mental health support and free therapy sessions through Oliva. - Hybrid & flexible work environment – work from anywhere in the UK, with also some flexibility to work across Europe. You decide how much or how little you go to the office. - Get the tech you need - You will get the latest MacBook and take your pick across a wide range of equipment to set up your home office ergonomically. - Work alongside an inspiring team – our two founders have started Semble after a successful startup exit, and your future colleagues are all knowledgeable and innovators in their field. - Fantastic office space in Central London, right outside Monument - with a roof terrace, weekly animations, loads of natural light, and cute doggies! - The usual free bits coming with nice offices (barista coffee, tea, fruits, happy hours and activities...).

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and all walks of life, including any typically underrepresented groups in the technology industry. We also encourage applications from disabled and neurodiverse candidates, so if there are any adjustments we can make to support you throughout the recruitment process, please do let us know.

By submitting this application, I agree that my personal data will be collected, processed, and retained by the company solely for the purposes of managing and assessing my candidacy.
