About the role

BeZero is at a pivotal moment. Our ratings are becoming the benchmark for the carbon market, the science behind them is developing fast, and our delivery system needs to keep pace.

We are looking for someone to take ownership of that system: managing the ratings portfolio day to day, building the operational infrastructure that makes delivery predictable and scalable, and playing a central role in how we embed automation and AI enabled ways of working across the team.

You will work directly with scientists, analytical leadership, and our product and platform teams. Over the next six months, you will be the person who turns operational insight into lasting improvement and brings the team with you when you do

Responsibilities

Portfolio and delivery management

  • Own the day to day performance of the ratings delivery portfolio, building the visibility, discipline and routines that make delivery predictable at scale
  • Maintain a clear view of flow, throughput, utilisation and delivery quality across the pipeline and act on what you see
  • Take an ops agnostic approach, always asking what the system needs rather than defaulting to existing tools or processes
  • Keep Float, Asana and related tools as the source of operational truth for scheduling and delivery tracking
  • Working closely with the analyst, engineering, product, onboarding, ops, and people ops teams to keep delivery coordinated and friction low

Automation and AI

  • Co-design and build a delivery system where automation handles repeatable work and the team's time goes where it matters most
  • Identify opportunities and deliver solutions, coded or low/no code, from quick wins to larger strategic improvements in partnership with our Senior Operations Manager
  • Stay current with what is possible and bring practical, high leverage ideas with a clear view of where they create the most impact
  • Excellence in change, standards and embedding
  • Own operational standards for ratings delivery and build the conditions and clarity for those standards to be adopted and maintained across analysts and sector leads
  • Design change with success criteria defined upfront, track impact honestly and build capability over time so excellent practice becomes self sustaining
  • Deliver the human dimension of change: the coaching, relationship capital and judgement that make the difference between a process that exists and one that works

Stakeholder and leadership partnership

  • Work closely with the Director of Business Operations and Analytical Directors to align operational design with analytical and commercial priorities
  • Surface risks, delivery signals and system health indicators early so leadership can make confident decisions

Impact and prioritisation

  • Define what success looks like for every improvement and track it in terms leadership can use, including throughput, utilisation and delivery against analyst day targets
  • Help the business prioritise where to focus next based on operational data and delivery performance

What we are looking for

  1. Process analysis and improvement - You can map how work flows through a system, spot where it breaks down, and redesign it in ways that are practical and durable.
  2. Automation and AI mindset - Hands on experience redesigning processes and introducing automation (Google Apps Script, Make, Zapier or similar) OR at an earlier stage, you are actively upskilling and can demonstrate it.
  3. Change management - The capability we are weighting most heavily. You design rollouts that actually land, model great practice, and build repeatable infrastructure so each successive change goes better than the last.

About you

  • Background in a B2B SaaS, platform or services environment where delivery quality had real consequences for clients, reputation and the business
  • Experience evaluating complex, adaptive operational systems and helping teams get to good
  • Managed a live portfolio of work with genuine accountability for throughput and quality
  • Introduced automation into workflows previously running on manual effort, or actively building that capability and able to demonstrate it
  • Held operational standards in teams of technical professionals including analysts, researchers or scientists, where credibility has to be earned
  • Designed process changes and seen them through to adoption, not just documentation
  • Comfortable as the operational anchor in a room of subject matter experts, bringing synthesis and judgement rather than just execution

What we’ll offer:

  • 25 days leave (with additional time off between Christmas and New Year, and for your birthday)
  • Benefits package covering private medical insurance, critical illness cover, income protection, life assurance, medical cash plan and cycle to work scheme
  • Health and wellness cash allowance
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Regular social events
  • Nomad working policy

Our interview process:

  • 30 minute screening interview
  • 45 minute in person interview at our London office
  • 40 mins with our COO

We value diversity at BeZero Carbon. We need a team that brings different perspectives and backgrounds together to build the tools needed to make the voluntary carbon market transparent. We are therefore committed to not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, veteran status, age, or disability.
