Software Engineer

Software Engineer Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, whilst vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. Here’s our entire business plan. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

The role: Own the factory’s software backbone: ERP/MRP covering inventory, procurement, BOMs, work orders and production tracking Integrate systems, stitching ERP/MRP, scheduling, supply chain, procurement and engineering data into one coherent flow Build internal tooling for engineering, replacing the manual, repetitive and spreadsheet-bound work that slows people down Take end-to-end ownership: architecture, deployment, maintenance and iteration

Core skills: Strong fullstack software engineering, able to ship production systems end-to-end (frontend, backend, data) Experience building high uptime business-critical software Comfortable with data modelling, databases, APIs and integrations between disparate systems A bias for product driven development Strong first-principles reasoning

Preferable skills: Manufacturing, ERP or MRP domain experience Typescript, plus a modern web stack PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases Cloud, infrastructure and devops fundamentals
