We're launching a brand-new sports-themed restaurant at JA The Resort and are looking for a dynamic and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead the opening, build a high-performing team, and drive operational excellence from day one.

Job Summary

As the Restaurant General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and financial performance of our new sports-themed restaurant. You will oversee all aspects of the operation, ensuring exceptional guest experiences in line with Forbes standards while driving profitability, team engagement, and long-term success. This is a unique opportunity to shape and establish an exciting new dining concept from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful pre-opening, launch, and ongoing operation of the restaurant.

  • Oversee all restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction.

  • Drive business performance, revenue growth, and profitability through effective commercial strategies.

  • Ensure Forbes-standard guest experiences are consistently delivered.

  • Recruit, train, develop, and inspire a high-performing multicultural team.

  • Develop and execute innovative promotions, events, and marketing initiatives.

  • Oversee menu engineering and collaborate with the culinary team on concept development and profitability.

  • Manage P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and inventory management.

  • Ensure compliance with all hygiene, health, safety, and quality standards.

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive advantage.

  • Foster a positive team culture focused on excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with resort leadership to achieve business objectives and brand standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Hospitality Management or a related field.

Certifications

  • Basic & Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification – Required

  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certification – Preferred

  • WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Certification – Advanced preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar senior leadership role within luxury hospitality.

  • Proven experience leading sports bar, sports-themed restaurant, or premium casual dining concepts.

  • Strong background in Forbes-standard service environments.

  • Experience managing high-volume restaurant and bar operations.

  • Proven success in restaurant openings, concept development, and promotional activations.

  • Demonstrated experience managing large multicultural teams.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities.

Skills

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.

  • Expertise in menu engineering and revenue optimization.

  • Knowledge of current global food and beverage trends.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
